Can supporters give from a CAF account, other organisations, or payroll giving through Give As You Earn (GAYE)?

To give from a CAF account or another organisation:

If a supporter wants to give from a CAF account they will need a Stewardship Giving Account which can be to opened here.

When making a donation from a CAF account to Stewardship, the giver should quote both their Stewardship Giving Account number and your Stewardship Partner Account number (both 8 digits beginning 20) in the reference field. This enables us to identify who the funds have come from and apply them to their Stewardship Giving Account, and who to gift the funds to.

Without quoting their Stewardship Giving Account number, we're unable to identify who the funds have come from meaning the funds would be returned to CAF. Without quoting your Partner Account number which tells us who to gift the funds to, the funds would remain in their Stewardship Giving Account balance. Please ensure they provide both account numbers to ensure we are able to fulfil their giving as intended.

The time is takes to receive funds from CAF is dependant on CAF and is outside of our control. Please note we cannot claim Gift Aid on these gifts. Due to the manual process involved, there will be a 3% or £5 fee per transaction on the gift (whichever is greater).

To give using Give As You Earn (GAYE):

Your supporter may use the Give As You Earn Scheme (GAYE) to manage their charitable giving. In this case their employers will use a Payroll Giving provider. Your supporter will instruct the Payroll Giving provider to forward their gift for your support to us.

To give using Give As You Earn (GAYE) your supporter should first open a Stewardship Giving Account here, if they don't already have one.

When setting up the giving for your support they should give their Payroll Giving provider both their Stewardship Giving Account number and your Stewardship Partner Account number in the reference field (both 8-digit numbers starting with 20). When we receive the gift from the Payroll Giving provider (e.g. Charitable Giving or CAF), this enables us to identify who the funds have come from and apply them to their Stewardship Giving Account, and who to gift the funds to and make the gift to your Partner Account.

Without quoting their Stewardship Giving Account number, we're unable to identify who the funds have come from meaning the funds would be returned to the Payroll Giving provider. Without quoting your Partner Account number which tells us who to gift the funds to, the funds would remain in their Stewardship Giving Account balance. Please ensure they provide both account numbers to ensure we are able to fulfil their giving as intended.

Please note, we cannot claim Gift Aid on these gifts and there will be a 3% or £5 fee per transaction on the gift (whichever is greater) due to the manual process involved.
