No, there's no set limit to the number of calls you can make - we're here to help.
We expect to answer the vast majority of questions in the areas outlined below, but where we can’t, we'll give you guidance on what to do next and direct you to people who can help.

The helpline is confidential. If we believe that part of a constructive solution is that you talk to others inside or outside your organisation we will advise that, but we will not do that ourselves unless you ask us to. It is however worth noting that there are extremely limited circumstances governed by UK law where we may need to share information (e.g. related to tax evasion, terrorism and immediate and serious harm to an individual) where our legal responsibilities override confidentiality.
If you need to cancel for any reason, you can simply mail or telephone the Helpline. Because the annual subscription is such a low cost, we don’t give refunds when cancelling part way through a year.
There are some areas we're currently unable to cover, the most common ones include:
- Immigration and visas
- Specialist taxation
- Health and safety, including safeguarding
- Legal questions wider than charity law
- Comment on major documents, such as an HR manual
- Requests for extensive meetings, such as strategy reviews
Our Fees
Stewardship is a not-for-profit organisation and our costs are always kept as low as possible. Any surplus is reinvested into supporting charitable activities such as training, events and resources.
