Why support the Elderly?
Caring for the elderly is a tangible way we can live out Christ's command to love our neighbours.
The elderly are a precious and often overlooked segment of society, yet they have much to offer the Church and the world through their wisdom, experience, and faith. As they grow older, many face challenges like declining health, financial difficulties, loneliness, and lack of community support. By supporting ministries and charities that serve the elderly, we can help ensure their basic needs are met and provide opportunities for them to thrive spiritually, socially, and emotionally. Investing in the elderly is an investment in the legacy of the church and the continuity of faith from one generation to the next.
Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the Lord.
Leviticus 19:32
Even to your old age and grey hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
Isaiah 46:4
They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, proclaiming, “The Lord is upright; he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him.”
Psalm 92:14-15
