Easter giving – five causes you can support

Easter is a really valuable opportunity to let people know that Jesus is Lord of our whole life.

Celebrating Easter is at the heart of being a Christian. Belief in the death, resurrection and glorification of Jesus is core to our faith.

Easter is also a really valuable opportunity to let people know that Jesus is Lord of our whole life. One very practical way to demonstrate this is through the use of our money and by sharing what we have with others.

Giving away freely is an echo of Jesus’ heart for us, and Easter can be a wonderful time when we put our money where our heart is. With that said, here are five causes that have been front and centre on our minds these past few weeks.

1. Restored

Restored is a charity who are speaking up about violence against women and girls through their research and campaigning. They also provide training for churches to help them recognise and respond to domestic abuse in their communities and to support survivors.

2. WONDER Foundation

Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, WONDER has been working alongside Pontes, their local partner in Poland, to support women and children refugees with their basic needs. They are a charity with a Christian ethos that empowers women and girls through quality education and access to good work so that they can exit poverty for good. Established in 2012, they work with women-led local NGOs in 23 countries across Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe towards a future where women and girls can make informed life choices and lead the way in their own personal development, and that of their families and communities.

3. Essential Christian

Essential Christian is a UK charity that is home to Spring Harvest, Essential Event Management, Song Solutions, Essential Christian Songs and Big Start Assemblies. They’re passionate about delivering excellent events and resources that equip the church for all that God is calling them to be and do. Spring Harvest is one of their key events, which runs at Easter. We are their official giving platform and would love you to join us in partnering with them.

4. Fusion UK

Fusion believes that every student should have the opportunity to find hope in Jesus and home in the local church during their time at university. Insights from their Student Worldview Survey - conducted in partnership with local churches earlier this year - engaged 1395 students from 45 university locations. The survey reported some incredible findings, such as 74% of students who would not call themselves Christian would go to church if they were invited by a friend. Help them as they seek to equip students for a life of mission and discipleship by guiding them into local churches that are trained and resourced to effectively care for and release students into the calling God has placed on their lives.

5. 4Front Theatre

From working in prisons to doing Christmas 'pantivities' (pantomime/nativity) for thousands of children and families, 4Front Theatre's work continues to have a huge impact in spreading the Gospel across the UK. Since 2019, 4Front has reached over 65,000 primary school children in person through their productions sharing the good news of Jesus, and their YouTube channel, Virtual Sunday School, has over half a million views.
