Evangelical Alliance: A God given vision for the future

Gavin Galver, CEO of the Evangelical Alliance, shares their ten year vision to see people sharing the good news of Jesus with confidence.

As I look back over the history of the Evangelical Alliance, and especially these last few years, there have been battles and blessings. Praise God, the blessings outnumber the battles.

We are so grateful for the support we receive from our members as we know there is power in unity and together, we strengthen the work of the church in our communities and represent Christians and churches in the corridors of power across the UK. I want to say a huge thank you for being a part of what we are doing. Great things have been achieved in His name.

A difficult but hope filled future

As we look ahead to the future, the church is facing turbulent and difficult times, people are really struggling, and the church is under increasing pressure. But significant cultural and spiritual challenges can also provide profound gospel opportunities, so a strong and healthy church is desperately needed in this season.

Now more than ever, the Evangelical Alliance needs to play its part as a brave and kind presence in society. It is a moment for the evangelical church to speak with a clear, compassionate, and confident voice and to take care of those who are hurting the most.

A ten year plan to share the name of Jesus

God has given us a bold and exciting vision for the next 10 years. For the next decade, we are committed to ensuring our members have the confidence, the tools, and the language to proclaim and demonstrate the good news of Jesus throughout the UK whilst turning up the volume as we speak into wider society, the secular media and the corridors of power.

  • We need to grow our membership further, unite more widely and be a model of intercultural and intergenerational engagement.
  • We need to train and equip young adults to make Jesus known in their workplaces and communities.
  • We need to help our members navigate the cultural shifts happening around us, so that we can all be salt and light wherever God has positioned us.

Our vision is ambitious, but we are expectant. The realisation of this vision could help shape the next decade for the church. Will you come on the journey with us as we put into action the plans that God has laid out before us?

Stand, see and speak

Because of those who stand with us, I believe we will see lives changed through the power of the gospel, and a united church speaking out to society and those in power with bravery and hope on issues that matter. Despite challenging times, we are expectant because we know God is with us.
