Clarissa is running the Cambridge Half Marathon!
Running to rewild an 1500-tree woodland in memory of Jamie Gardiner (1994-2017), who loved the outdoors.
Closing date: 23 February 2022
Story
I'm running the Cambridge half marathon on Sunday 8 March 2020! As a group of friends, we're raising money to grow a 1,500-tree woodland in the Scottish borders in memory of our dear friend, Jamie Gardiner.
Jamie's Wood will be made up of native rowan, holly, silver birch, eared willow and oak trees, and will provide a rich habitat for wildlife and capture carbon dioxide. Over the course of our lifetime we can expect to see saplings grow into a mature woodland which will stand forever in his memory.
Jamie lived his love of nature in countless walks, hikes and expeditions. Since his sudden death whilst mountaineering in Norway in January 2017, a group of us have coordinated this plan as a way to celebrate his life and passion for the natural world.

To bring this project to life, we are working in collaboration with the John Muir Trust. For more information, see: https://www.johnmuirtrust.org
