Partner profile
The John Muir Trust is a leading UK wild land conservation charity, dedicated to protecting and enhancing wild places in the UK for both people and wildlife. We work to defend wild land, enhance habitats and encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with wild places.
We own and safeguard land in some of the UK's finest wild landscapes - including Ben Nevis, Schiehallion and part of the Cuillin on Skye - which we manage to improve biodiversity. We recently took over management of an area of the Lake District including Helvellyn and Striding Edge.
We campaign for better statutory protection of wild land, and against inappropriate industrial development in wild land areas.
Every year, we connect thousands of people throughout the UK with wild places – some for the first time in their lives – through our main engagement initiative, the John Muir Award.
