Story

England and Saracens rugby star Maro Itoje has proudly launched The Pearl Fund, which will work in partnership with World Vision UK, Community Development Links Initiative (CDLi) and Stewardship.

The first programme will be a ‘cradle-to college’ approach, where a cohort of pre-school children from one of Lagos’ most deprived areas will be supported – from early childhood, through the education system until school leaving age.

Additionally, The Pearl Fund will support programmes in Ghana through World Vision, who have been partnering with communities there since 1979.

But it’s not just life-changing for those who receive the education. By supporting this fund to improve access to education for children in Nigeria and Ghana, you will be transforming the lives of future generations and communities.

The Pearl Fund is a partnership between World Vision UK, CDLi & Stewardship. The fund’s goal is to support the work of CDLi with 70% of the gifts & World Vision, 30%.

Raising funds for

If the fundraising exceeds, or does not reach its intended target, funds will be used to generally support the work of CDLi (Nigerian registered not-for-profit organisation) and World Vision UK (registered charity number 285908 in England & Wales).
