& Development
Hope Lebedyn started back in 1999 seeking to bring practical training, care, hope and the gospel message to the specific region of Sumy, Ukraine.
The team carries out a range of evangelistic activities and programmes to enable the Good News to be shared whilst practically supporting and caring for those in need. This includes our all-year camps for children and youth along with their weekly clubs visits to schools and orphanages where they deliver creative puppet show performances filled with stories and music inspired by the Gospel, computer & sewing workshops, an evangelistic sports programme, bible study groups where we train leaders for the future and a bakery and bread minsitry baking up to 20,000 loaves annually.
Due to the war in Ukraine, our team in Lebedyn are reacting to ever changing difficult situations with urgent needs as they also manage church-led relief to Ukrainian refugees displaced from their homes, as well as delivering aid and resources within the Sumy region and endeavouring to continue their normal ministry as circumstances allow. Not only are we trying to meet the immediate needs in an area increasingly impacted by the war we have plans to plant 12 churches in the region by 2028 and to get the bible college back up and running.
