The Nasio Trust is a UK-based charity that runs educational, healthcare, and income-generation programmes in Kakamega County, Kenya. Its charitable mission started over twenty-years ago when an abandoned baby was found in a field in AIDS-prone Musanda.
The Nasio Trust currently sponsors the education, nutrition, and healthcare of 320 vulnerable or orphaned children. It runs two day care centres as well as a medical centre, which offers cheap or free health services to the rural population. In 2022 alone, it received over 18,000 cases.
The charity believes in transforming lives by empowering communities. As a result, it also has its own income-generating projects, with over 600 farmers having been trained in sustainable agriculture.
