The Knighton and Presteigne Foodbank provides emergency parcels for individuals and families who are in financial crisis. In the aftermath of the Covid pandemic and as energy prices and inflation continue to rise, there has been an increasing call on the Foodbank services as more people struggle to support themselves.

We have been receiving a significant number of referrals from the local support services and agencies such as Social Services, Housing, Women’s Aid, Mental Health Services, GP’s, District Nurses, Health Visitors and CAB. Each referral is given careful consideration of need and a crisis parcel put together, tailored to the particular needs of the individual or family. In addition to fresh and dried/tinned foodstuffs, we have been able to provide toiletries, hygiene products, slow cookers, vouchers for local retailers, and items to help in keeping warm. Our aim is to give a helping hand to those who are not quite coping whilst respecting their dignity and sense of self-worth.

The Food Bank is open twice a week in Knighton but also serves Presteigne and the surrounding area.
