Education India

Education India is a small Christian charity. We are a team of eight retired teachers who have taught in Indian schools, and now go back for a month at a time to train teachers and share our faith. There are many wonderful Christian schools serving poor rural communities, and it is hard for them to get and retain well-trained teachers.

We run whole school training seminars after school each day, we mentor teachers one-on-one, we take assemblies and staff devotions, we offer prayer where appropriate. In addition, it is our privilege to encourage the school founders and leaders - wonderful followers of Jesus, faithfully obeying God's call on their lives, but finding it hard in an increasingly hostile country.

Pre-Covid, we were going twice a year for four weeks at a time. At present we are on hold, waiting to see what happens with visas and travel opportunities. To date, we have found it an exhilerating, exhausting, thrilling way to work for the extension of God's Kingdom.
