Church
& Friendship
We are a small church in Bermondsey, London.
Our church has a long history. First formed in 1813, meeting near the old London Bridge, and grew rapidly, to the point of having to run three services on a Sunday to fit everyone in.
The church moved to Snows Fields, then to Webb Street before constructing a purpose built chapel on Lynton Road, Bermondsey in 1873. This chapel was sadly lost to bomb damage in 1940, and many families left Bermondsey, and indeed London, for safer parts of the country.
1946 saw the building of our current chapel on Monnow Road, and the faithful witness continued through good times and bad.
With people of all ages and nationalities, we are drawn together by a desire to see God's Word impact our lives, and our community.
