Faminternational is a charity that exists to bring practical solutions to the global orphan crisis. This has involved working with governments and training ministers, police, lawyers, social workers and other key people in society so that they can implement plans to place children in families rather than institutions. We produce literature to educate and reform. We pay for social workers to support desperately poor families, so that they do not have to relinquish them to orphanages simply because they cannot afford to keep them. We provide microbusinesses solutions to lift vulnerable families out of poverty. We pay for books, uniforms and school fees for those that cannot afford them. We believe that the best place for a child to thrive is in family and we do everything in our capacity to keep children with their families or provide family based care for those that aren't able to remain.
