Clergy Support Trust is the largest charity focused on the well-being of Anglican clergy and their families, supporting thousands of households across the UK, Ireland, Diocese of Europe, and Diocese of Sodor and Man.

We were founded in 1655. Independent from the Church, confidential, inclusive, and impartial, we have never been more needed. Today, we provide an expanding range of grants and support services.

The generosity of our supporters helps to ensure that we can be there for every clergy household who comes to us in need.

Sarah and Maddie's story

When Sarah's daughter, Maddie qualified to represent Team GB at the Paris Paralympics, the Trust was on hand to make sure the whole family could be there to cheer her on.

Sarah is a curate in the West Midlands, where she lives with her husband, Mike, and daughters, Maddie and Nancy. Shortly before her seventeenth birthday, Maddie qualified to represent Team GB at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, in the 100 metres (T38) and long jump.

Clergy Support Trust were delighted to be able to provide the family with a Wellbeing grant to help relieve the financial strain.

"It was such an incredible moment for our family to go and watch Maddie compete. It's the most surreal, but also the most amazing experience to watch your child achieve their dream, doing what they love."

Demand for our grants and services continues to grow; it's quadrupled in the past 5 years. More than 1 in 5 of all serving clergy rely on our support. They and we need your help.
