The Friends of Wells Cathedral are raising funds for the renovation of the Cathedral's Great Organ. The Organ was last refurbished about fifty years ago and is in need of considerable works.
In 1974, the Friends contributed the case to the Organ. This time the Friend's have committed to raising the full funds for the rebuild.
The Friends have a record of funding significant projects at Wells Cathedral including the works to the Chapter Hosue in the 1980s, the biggest project by a cathedral friends association at the time. More recently, the Friends funded the Friends' Building, which contains education rooms and the Cathedral's Song School.
