Happy Child International's Summer Fundraising Walks 2024
Walks in Surrey and Kent
Closing date: 18 April 2026
Story
Happy Child International wants to raise £5,000 to contribute towards the cost of running the Mentoring and Skills Training Project. This is an amazing project helping lift vulnerable children and their families out of poverty.
The project gives 40 over 16 year olds the opportunity to build their self esteem and resilience, improve their interpersonal skills and enable them to acquire technical skills to work in industrial mechanics and business administration. Hands on work experience is supplied by Gerdau iron and steel company. At the end of the project there is the opportunity to apply for paid work on their company apprenticeship programme. This can be a lifechaning possibility and earning a salary can completely change their family circumstances.
60 young people have established long term employment through this wonderful project. YOUR GENEROUS giving would contribute towards the £2.44 per week per student that enable these young people to participate in the project.
