Since the Poverty and Hope Appeal launched 45 years ago it has partnered with Christian Aid, USPG and CMS to bridge the gap between donors in Rochester and those in some of the poorest countries, working with trusted and experienced local partners who understand the needs of the communities in which they work. Programmes supported in 2022-23 are based in Bangladesh, Myanmar and Brazil.

From 2022 we will share donations equally between the founding partner programmes and Rochester’s African companion dioceses in Tanzania and Zimbabwe. We will focus on coping with climate change through small-scale water management and agricultural diversification programmes.
