Maddy’s London Marathon for NCF

Story

I am running the London Marathon on the 2nd October for Namuwongo Community Foundation (NCF). NCF is a small charity based in the suburbs of Kampala, Uganda. They run a school to provide free education for children from the slum community of Namuwongo, alongside a health clinic and social work. Every day the children are provided with a hot meal at school, which their families may not be able to afford otherwise.

This summer I was able to visit the project and see what valuable work NCF does. The children are so joyful and grateful to be supported by NCF. NCF has changed their lives and had such a positive impact on their families and the wider community in Namuwongo. There is still so much need and the project relies on fundraising to keep running.

After wanting to run the London marathon for multiple years but injuries getting in the way, it’s looking like I am actually going to get to the start line...! I am very excited to run and to do so for a great cause.
