Jake's London Marathon 2024 Fundraiser

Story

I’ve chosen to fundraise for the Friends of Ibba Girls School that provides access to education for South Sudanese girls who would otherwise miss out on school due to poverty, domestic pressures or forced childhood marriage.

Ibba school opened in 2014. The first cohort of girls to complete the national secondary school leaving certificate in Spring 2023, all passed with flying colours.

“We know from decades of research that when girls and women are educated, we see faster poverty reduction, better maternal health, lower child mortality, greater HIV prevention and reduced violence.” United Nations

Your sponsorship will go towards teaching costs, healthcare and psychosocial support which will make a lasting difference to the girls’ lives.
