Could you help provide desks and chairs for 1,000 pupils?

And improve their playground before school starts?

Our largest school site is at Ngangi in the northern suburbs of Goma. We had a promise from an NGO to rebuild 12 classrooms, an office and the toilets for a very large primary school that teaches 1,000 students. In early August we found out that they couldn’t do it.

So, with less than a month to go we had to break up the volcanic rock and level the site, and then build the 12 classrooms and the office with the start of term fast approaching.

But they don’t yet have their desks and chairs. Could you help provide desks and chairs for the 12 classrooms, at the cost of £250 per classroom? If there is anything over and above we will be able to add sand to level the playground, which at the moment is just rocks.
