Story
The Wyn Cornish Awards were inspired by Missionary Teacher Wyn Cornish
Oxford Friends provide bursaries for tertiary education to pupils completing their schooling to Grade 12 and teachers to enhance their teaching qualifications. Awards can cover course and exam fees, laptops, accommodation/travel/substistance living costs
WCA holders come from impoverished families with little or no financial support
The current PO is Cheelo Sichilo, an inspiring young teacher with a talent for mentoring Award holders.
The PO supports the Oxford Friends by managing the Awards in Zambia including applications, mentoring, liaison with Colleges & payment of fees & allowances.
WCA holders are encouraged to visit Hope & Faith School to motivate younger school students
The budget includes salary, internet/wifi, travel & stationary allowances. The PO has already been provided with a mobile phone and laptop
Should this fundraiser exceed its target, excess funds will be used towards the general funds of the charity
