Wheelchairs for Angolans
MANNA
Closing date: 19 October 2023
Story
In many low and middle income countries, disabled people are amongst the most vulnerable members of society. Without the right wheelchair, access to education, work and healthcare is very difficult and so often people become prisoners in their own homes.
The right wheelchair can change that.
MANNA wants to raise £9,000 to buy Motivation rough terrain wheelchairs for 8 people in Lobito, Angola in partnership with the health clinic we work with. These wheelchairs are especially designed for rough terrain in rural developing countries.
It will cost £910 per wheelchair. The remaining costs are for import taxes into Angola.
We are looking to buy a wheelchair for Cesario, Bernada, Afonso, Abilio, Rosario, Severino, Celita and Delfina. All of them contracted polio as a child and therefore mobility is very difficult. These wheelchairs will transform their lives.
