Oxford Friends raising funds to support the Wyn Cornish Awards
Meet our Award holders - WCA2023
Closing date: 03 June 2025
Story
The Wyn Cornish Awards were inspired by Missionary Teacher Wyn Cornish.
The Oxford Friends of Hope & Faith School offer WCA bursaries for tertiary level education to pupils completing their school education to Grade 12 and teachers wishing to enhance their qualifications. The awards cover course and exam fees, laptops, accommodation &/or travel costs.
WCA holders come from impoverished families with little or no financial support & no previous tertiary level experience.
Philip Mapala was given a Government Bursary to study Medicine at the University of Zambia because of his exceptional performance in school. He applied for a WCA to help with accomodation and subsistence costs.
Valencia Mapulanga is a former Head Girl of Max High School. She applied for a WCA to enable her to continue her Nursing course, after her father passed in 2022.
Edward Lungu is a clever young man that loves mathematics. He applied for a WCA to study Banking and Finance.
