Swaythling Parish - St Mary's Church

Story

We are a small friendly church in Southampton and are about to undertake a restoration project to ensure the building stays watertight.  

St Mary’s is one of the oldest churches in Southampton, and is one of the two remaining medieval churches in the city. Parts of the church date back to Norman times (12th Century).

We are needing to repair sections of the roof, to enable us to continue to use the building to support our community locally in Swaythling and Mansbridge, and for worship services, weddings, baptisms and funerals. 

We already have some funds set aside for the work, have received some generous legacies, and are also applying for grants for the work, but we still have a shortfall, so we are very grateful to any individuals who are able to support this work.
