Skills Hub Kampala
Vocational training for young people in poverty
Closing date: 28 January 2026
Story
Nsumbi Trust works in partnership with the Stephen Jota Children's Centre and the Skills Hub Kampala to help rebuild damaged lives and give hope to children, young people and families living in Kampala, Uganda.
The Skills Hub is situated in an area of urban deprivation on the outskirts of the city. Young people who have had to drop out of school learn how to use computers for the first time. They gain skills in the applications that will enable them to get work.
Others learn how to make and edit videos or how to repair phones. At the same time as gaining IT skills some are trained in hairdressing and tailoring - using a traditional sewing machine. The Hub is linked to Family Believers Church in Nakulabye
£25 enables a young person to attend the Skills Hub for a month
£50 pays for a sewing machine that will set up a trainee to earn some money
£100 will pay for a full certificated course at the Hub
The total we are looking to raise is the cost of running the Hub for 1 year
