Running for more empathy in our community...

Story

The London Marathon has always been a dream. I’m thrilled, if not a little daunted, to be able to take on this feat. 

Yet I’m honoured to do it not only for me but for a charity that is very close to my heart.

Empathy Action is very special to me. I have seen it grow from the first days. I’ve been part of its immersive simulations and even taken my family to them. 

Empathy is something that I believe the world needs to continually cultivate to navigate the systemic challenges of our day, to appreciate one another, recognise the humanity of situations and most importantly build a compassionate world. 

This summer, Empathy Action needs sponsorship for Refugee Week in Sevenoaks where it will be running its Desperate Journeys immersive workshop. A number of schools will be coming and it will involve a wonderful volunteer community that will forge vital links.

I’ve decided to step up to sponsor the events through my run at the London Marathon next month.
