Care for Cambodia’s Library Days
Install a small library in each village project
Closing date: 15 February 2025
Story
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go."
Dr Seuss
We want to install a small library in each of our 40+ village projects. To see kids reading books instead of borrowing Mum's smartphone! We aim to allocate one day each week as a Library day where books will be available for kids to relax with and read. Initially this will just be for the kids in our projects but in time we aim to open this up for all members of society; for those who want to practice reading, for those who are inquisitive, or for those who are lonely and just want company.
Good, dual language, (Khmer and English) books are available and inexpensive in Cambodia and for c. £40 per village we can purchase 30+ books. We will buy a selection of fiction, non-fiction, educational and activity books. This initiative has already been trialled in one project and has been very popular.
