Holy Trinity Wester Hailes Foodbank
Closing date: 16 October 2026
Story
Life is hard for many families in Wester Hailes, facing unemployment, low incomes and worries over health. High energy costs, increasing cost of living and inflation hit the poorest individuals and families hard. Holy Trinity Church's Crisis Foodbank provides a warm and welcoming place each Tuesday afternoon where help is on offer. We provide freshly cooked meals and essential provisions to last families for a few days. The Crisis Foodbank runs a small tearoom, which facilitates conversations where we signpost clients to local debt advice, job club support and a counselling service among others. We also direct clients to The Bridge Community Cafe where meals may be had on other days of the week. We are thankful to our team of Foodbank volunteers who welcome clients and provide practical help and a listening ear.
We are dependant on donations from supporters to cover over £1,000 of food expenses monthly. Our goal is to raise £15,000 to maintain this service for those who need it most.
