Story

Very high tides and storm surge overnight on Monday 8th April combined to cause severe flooding of the CYE site.  The ground floors of both Jubilee building and Thwaites House were flooded.  Our whole main site was completely underwater.
 
Our Easter Revision campers and leaders were evacuated on Tuesday morning as we lost water and power. We've had to close while we assess the damage and clear up, sadly cancelling Easter Blaze and the next school residential.
 
The damage is significant, but recoverable. Our buildings endured a serious test, a huge clean-up operation is underway with substantial repair work to follow. Most equipment was above the waterline, but some has been damaged beyond repair. We're currently unsure how much we can claim on insurance.
