More than twenty years ago, Richard Gamble had a vision: to build a landmark that would speak of God's goodness to the world.
Today, that dream is coming closer to reality as Eternal Wall of Answered Prayer prepares to break ground near Birmingham.
Building a monument to answered prayer
Set to become the world’s largest Christian monument, Eternal Wall will stand 169 feet tall and be visible for six miles around. Every one of its one million bricks will represent a story of answered prayer — a living testimony to God’s power, faithfulness, and grace.
“We are creating a place that will proclaim who Jesus is,” says Richard. “Each story tells of God's kindness and love. We believe that these testimonies will bring hope to millions, not just today but for generations to come."
A shared vision, built by many
Behind the grand design lies a deeply relational story — one of persistent prayer, faithful giving, and a shared calling. From the beginning, Eternal Wall has been shaped by the obedience and generosity of Christians from across the UK and beyond.
With land secured, planning permission granted, and 70% of the necessary funding raised, preparations are well underway. Recent wind tunnel testing of the structure marks another significant milestone, and construction is set to begin later this year.
“The journey has been long and often challenging,” Richard reflects. “But through it all, God has been faithful. His hand has been so clearly on this project, and we've seen time and again how He provides — through people's prayers, encouragement, and gifts.”
Stories that change lives
Revelation 12:11 reminds us: "They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony." Eternal Wall will embody this truth — a monument built not of bricks alone, but of living stories.
Already, thousands of testimonies have been gathered, from miraculous healings to restored relationships, financial provision to quiet moments of answered prayer. Every story matters, whether spectacular or small. And Richard believes that sharing these stories can be transformational.
“Imagine a young woman in Peru, scrolling through the Eternal Wall online, and finding a story that speaks directly to her heart,” he says. “Through one story, one testimony, she might discover that Jesus is alive, that He listens and He answers. That’s the vision.”
A special heritage section of the monument will also celebrate historic answered prayers, including those connected to figures such as William Wilberforce and Queen Elizabeth II, reminding visitors of God’s faithfulness through the centuries.
A call to share
As Eternal Wall moves closer to becoming reality, Richard is inviting Christians everywhere to contribute their own stories of answered prayer.
“Your story matters,” he says. “No matter how big or small it may seem, it speaks of God’s faithfulness. By sharing it, you could encourage someone you’ve never met, maybe even someone on the other side of the world.”
Visitors to the site will eventually be able to explore the stories digitally, while enjoying a peaceful woodland, a café, a prayer room, and a visitor centre designed to create space for reflection and hope.
In a world often filled with bad news, Eternal Wall will stand as a bold declaration of God’s goodness — a place where testimonies are gathered, celebrated, and shared, for the glory of Jesus.
