Policies for Churches/Charities – Conflicts of Interest

Amount: £10.00

The Charity Commission recognises that conflicts of interest can have a damaging impact on the reputation of charities, and as such expects all charities to handle conflicts of interest appropriately. Part of the response from charities is to have a conflicts of interest policy that informs the trustees of their responsibilities in this area, and sets out what to do in the event that a conflict of interests is identified. This template policy and its associated guidelines provide the basis for a conflicts of interest policy can be easily adapted by churches and charities to fit their own particular situation.

Topics included:

  • What is the purpose behind a conflicts of interest policy in churches or Christian charities?
  • How should churches or Christian charities seek to manage a conflict of interest?
  • What are the implications for a trustee of a church or charity where a conflict of interest has been identified?
