Jim Harries (b. 1964, PhD-theology University of Birmingham, 2007) has lived and ministered in East Africa from 1988 to date.
His primary ministry is Bible teaching using the Luo and Swahili languages, with an orientation to indigenous churches, in Kenya and Tanzania.
Jim, who is single, also engages in pastoral and prayer ministry, in hospitals and in the community. In addition, Jim engages a lot of research and writing, particularly in promoting the practice of 'vulnerable mission'. He has written 14 books, and numerous articles. He chairs the Alliance for Vulnerable Mission (vulnerablemission.org). He is adjunct faculty of William Carey International University in California.
