Locally led and globally connected, Christian Aid brings together those at the forefront of ending poverty in their communities with visionary supporters who are keen to equip and empower them to make change happen. We've partnered with communities and organisations across the world to support people of all faiths and none. Connecting initiative, expertise, reach and resources, we can enable you to make a real difference.

Our belief that poverty can be ended is based on our understanding of scripture and the work of a creative, loving God. We are the international development agency for 41 sponsoring churches. Everything we do is rooted in our Christian beliefs.

The world we experience is broken by suffering, injustice and sinfulness.

As a result, we are confronted by the scandal of poverty and the degradation of creation. However, our hope is founded on Gods promise of a world without poverty where everyone has life in all its fulness. We, therefore, believe the world can be restored and transformed, and that God calls us to speak and act prophetically to bring change. Christian Aid works with people of all faiths and none to help end poverty and achieve social justice. We believe that everyone is equal and that poverty is an injustice that affects people regardless of their faith.

Current appeals:

At Christian Aid, we have a number of appeals across the 26 countries we work in, ranging from humanitarian assistance to longer-term projects which are built around our key pillars of climate justice, gender justice, governance and peacebuilding.

Emergency response:

Through our local partners across the world, we can work directly to the people affected by disasters to provide the most useful emergency response.

Currently, we are responding to the humanitarian crises in South Sudan, Sudan and the Middle East.

Middle East: The conflict in the Middle East has taken a devastating toll on innocent lives. Before the ceasefire was agreed, civilians endured unimaginable suffering as violence escalated.

While the death, destruction, and displacement in the region are overwhelming, there's still hope. With your support, our partners can provide lifesaving supplies to civilians caught up in this conflict.

Sudan and South Sudan: Amidst a brutal conflict, millions of people across Sudan are displaced and facing the threat of famine and death. More than 1 million people have fled across the border to seek safety in South Sudan, a country hit by the worst floods in decades. We cannot allow these people to be forgotten. With your support, our partners can provide life-saving support, stop this widespread hunger and bring hope to people fleeing conflict.

In Their Lifetime:

Our innovative programme In Their Lifetime (ITL) enables us to pioneer new ways to fight poverty and injustice. With the help of ITL supporters, we invest in bold possibilities in the search for sustainable, transformational change. We work with communities across the world bringing to life ideas targeted towards areas of critical need - ideas which offer the opportunity to speed up the pace of change of poverty eradication. These projects are designed and delivered by our local partners, to capitalise on opportunities they have identified, and supported by a small, engaged group of supporters who believe in the vision of ITL and want to join with us on this incredible journey.
