Kamala once lived on the streets in miserable conditions. She is a child trafficking survivor whose stepfather sold her into trafficking to India when she was around 5 or 6 years old. After experiencing severe trauma and abandonment, she was left on the street. When we found her, she had not eaten for many days, but with our empathetic care and support, she recovered. Today, she works at KOSHISH. She says, 'I want to use my energy to support my fellow sisters who are suffering like I did'. Even now, her memories of the dark are so painful that she leaves the office before 4:00 p.m. KOSHISH's work is not only helping individuals, but also turning many survivors into activists working for the same cause as Kamala.
