Integral's Vision: Christian agencies uniting globally, alleviating suffering and restoring hope in disasters and beyond.

Integral exists to see Gods kingdom demonstrated by uniting our Members. We champion, encourage and facilitate collaborative working across the alliance, particularly in disasters.

Integral is a global alliance of 22 Christian organisations that come together to respond in times of disaster. Our Members are headquartered in 15 countries and work in 70 countries with a network of more than 470 local Partners.

When disaster strikes Integral Members follow an agreed Joint Disaster Response process, strategically combining their programming, financial and communications resources. In 15 years, Integral Members have responded together in nearly 50 disasters, both natural and manmade. Our most recent active responses are in Lebanon, the Occupied Palestinian Terroritories, Myanmar, Haiti, Ukraine and countries in the Indo-Pacific including Sri-Lanka, Indonesia and Thailand.

By combining Member strengths, we extend our reach and deepen our impact in disasters. Our Joint Disaster Response Process ensures a rapid and high-quality response both directly and through local Partners. We are also able to focus on neglected crises like Sudan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Burkina Faso and DRC - all countries that lack donor and media attention. By combining our collective capacity, funding and expertise, we believe we serve people better by working together. We unite in order to enable all people in need to flourish as God intended.

Integral promotes locally led action in disaster responses, recognising local organisations as equal partners. Integral is committed to maintaining high quality in our work in accordance with internationally recognised standards which respect international law and humanitarian principles. Integral Members endorse and commit to the Core Humanitarian Standard.

Integral Alliance Members are meeting to coordinate around the recent Ebola outbreak in eastern DRC and Uganda. Integral Members present in DRC and Uganda include Food for the Hungry, LM International, Medair, Medical Teams International, Tearfund (UK) and World Relief. Other Members are working alongside their Local Partners. Our Members and their Partners are well-positioned to respond in this crisis and already provide essential health services in many affected areas. Their responses include raising awareness with local communities, scaling up infection prevention and control, screening and case management.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda a public health emergency of international concern. Integral will continue to facilitate coordination of our Members around this crisis.
