BASICS Trust is a Christian charity based in Uphall, West Lothian. It aims to improve life for local people through its initiatives - the Open Door and the BUSY Project.
The Open Door operates a community café, serving drinks, home baking and light meals at affordable prices, four days a week. It provides much-appreciated space for all to meet, chat and make friends. It is staffed and managed by volunteers. Funds raised support the work of the BUSY Project.

The BUSY Project aims for all young people to thrive and have hope at the heart of a community that values them. It runs a lunch club in school, and out of school activities such as youth club, cookery workshops, and trips during school holidays. BUSY enables young people to recognise and develop their abilities, so they grow in confidence and self-esteem. It welcomes young people from all walks of life, of any faith or none, and encourages them to ask big questions about their world, themselves and the role of faith in their lives.
