Volunteering Lifeboats Visits Officer RNLI - Based on the River Thames in central London, Tower Lifeboat station is the busiest RNLI station in the country. With 625 launches and 10 lives saved recorded in 2018.Volunteering as a Lifeboat Visits Officer and being part of the RNLI's lifeboat station is an important role within the charity as we aim to save the lives of people of all age groups through our fantastic visits programme. A message given today could be a life saved tomorrow.
As well as encouraging the different groups to visit the station, I assist in finding and supporting volunteers who will assist in presenting our vital water safety messages alongside promoting the work of the RNLI to inspire and motivate the next generation of RNLI supporters. In this role, l liaise with other station volunteers such as the Station Manager to ensure good communication and that the visits do not impact on other operational matters.
