Churches Together in Knighton and District - Knighton Food Bank
Registered Charity Number: 1172353
Partner profile
The Knighton and East Radnor Food Bank provides emergency parcels for individuals and families who are in crisis.
A significant number of local people continue to struggle often because of delays in payments of benefits, particularly Universal Credit, but there are also working families on tax credits, self employed workers and those on zero hours contracts who find themselves in financial difficulty from time to time.
We receive referrals from the local support services and agencies such as Social Services, Housing, Women’s Aid, Mental Health Services, GP’s, District Nurses, Health Visitors and CAB. Each referral is given careful consideration of need.
A crisis parcel typically consists of 3 days worth of tinned & dried food, fresh items such as milk, bread, cheese and eggs, fruit & vegetable vouchers, and toiletries.
The Food Bank is open twice a week in Knighton and once a week in Presteigne.
