St. Augustine's Centre is a community centre in central Halifax, specialising in providing advice and support to refugees, asylum seekers and migrants.
Since 1968, under the principles of community, sanctuary, nurture and respect, we have offered a warm and welcoming environment for anyone who walks through our doors. We provide English Language classes, free hot lunches, advice drop ins, employment support, destitution support, walking and footbal groups, cultural and social activities, and we even have a house band - Hind and the Jaffa Cakes!
Since the outbreak of Covid-19 we have adapted our services so that we can continue to meet the needs of our centre users, safely. We welcome your support now more than ever as in many ways our community's needs have grown in recent weeks. Your help enables us to provide daily telephone support, a food parcel delivery service, hot takeaway lunches, activity packs delivery, and combat isolation and fear.
