BUILD Partners supports the work of BUILD (Biblical Understanding for In-service Leadership Development).

BUILD is a response to these facts:

First, most of the church leaders in the world today serve the growing churches of the non-Western world. Second, the majority remain untrained or poorly-trained because they cannot afford the time or money for full-time training. Third, even if they could access traditional training such patterns of theological education cannot cope with the scale and nature of the need.

In response BUILD is aimed at those who teach, care for and lead local congregations and it helps them to do this work more effectively. BUILD delivers training that is biblical, theological and practical through non-formal, local groups that are led by its trained trainers.

BUILD began as a programme of the Church of Uganda, but it has spread to the neighbouring countries to varying degrees: Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo and South Sudan.
