Proclamation Zambia

Proclamation Institute Zambia (PIZ) is a Bible College in Garneton, Kitwe, Zambia, committed to training men and women to handle God's word faithfully to serve as Bible teachers, pastors, evangelists, church workers and community leaders.

Proclamation Zambia (PZ) is a UK-registered charity and exists to raise funds for the work of PIZ, including student bursaries for those who could not otherwise access this training. Many students are already serving in local churches or community ministry, but have little or no opportunity for formal biblical training. A grant towards one student's place would provide the resources to enable that student to grow in confidence and competence as a faithful Bible teacher within their own cultural context.

Dr Lazarus Phiri, Vice Chancellor, Evangelical University, Ndola, Zambia, said:

“The vision for Proclamation Institute Zambia is not only a vision for Zambia, but it is a vision for Africa. Training men and women for ministry is the most strategic endeavour that we can ever venture into. There are many churches that are being planted, but very few trained men and women to help grow those churches”

Our motto Bible text is 2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

It costs roughly £4,500 to train one student per year.

The video includes Chris Hawthorne who has since returned to the UK for work. We have a new Principal, Tryson Mtonga who will be retiring at the end of 2026.

In 2027 we will welcome Moses Chimwaji to the post of Principal. Moses is a 2017 graduate: Proclamation Institute Zambia (PIZ) had a profound impact on his ministry. The coursework at PIZ not only enhanced his ministry skills but also played a vital role in shaping his personal spiritual formation. Moses was motivated to further theological studies. He says "My goal is to share what I have learned so that others may be equipped and impacted just as I was. To God be the glory."
