Myra's Wells

Myra's Wells is a Christian Charity providing wells in Burkina Faso in villages and areas of towns where there is insufficient clean water. Many of the wells are situated near churches and pastor frequently report increases both in attendance and church membership.

Apart from one full time, and one part time employees, in Ouagadoudou, our other helpers are volunteers who give their time unstintingly. Myra's Wells trustees fund the wages of the 2 employees. All surveying and drilling work is carried out by highly qualified local contractors with no intermeidiaries.

100% of public donations goes directly to providing wells. All other costs, including publicity, accountancy, travel to/from Burkina Faso, are paid personally by trustees.

As of October2025 , Myra's Wells has provided over 350 wells. Most have been finished using hand pumps but there has been a recent move to provide more with water towers (filled using solar powered pumps) and taps.

Water is made available to everyone who needs it, irrespective of enthic, religious or any other background.

We make it clear to the local people that we are providing wells in the name of Jesus and local pastors and evangelists use this as a means of teaching the gospel. In many locations, there have been many confessing faith in the Lord Jesus, being baptised and added to the local church.
