HHA empowers local communities to provide fair and equal access to life-saving health and disability care for the world's most vulnerable. Inspired by the call of Jesus – to love others as we wish to be loved – our vision is a world free from injustice, made up of inclusive, resilient communities that value the dignity and health of every person.

Our work began in Haiti, where we founded a hospital to provide quality healthcare in Cap Haitien, in the north of the country. Now, we run a rehabilitation centre and national referral centre for spinal cord injuries, a respite centre for children with disabilities, and wheelchair distribution centre that has provided thousands of life-changing wheelchairs across the country. We also improve maternal and infant health outcomes by strengthening locally run facility-based and community outreach programmes.

In Uganda, we run a nationally recognised rehabilitation centre in BidiBidi - one of the largest refugee settlements in the world - from which we provide rehab, mobility equipment, community outreach and mobile disability clinics. We also provide theraputic food, to reduce child malnutrition, carry out agriculture programmes to reduce food insecurity, and support refugee education.

In South Sudan, we run a health and rehabilitation centre in Kajo-Keji, a region close to the Ugandan border that was devestated by the civil war. From here, we provide outpatient consultations, lab tests, and medical care, as well as disability services including wheelchair provision, prosthetics & orthotics, and physiotherapy.
