The John Ray Initiative is an educational charity with a vision to bring together scientific and Christian understandings of the environment in a way that can be widely communicated and lead to effective action. JRI's mission is to promote responsible environmental stewardship in accordance with Christian principles and the wise use of science and technology.
Our two year Certificate course, Christian Rural & Environmental Studies, provides an opportunity to study rural and environmental issues from a Christian viewpoint. It will be of interest to all with a personal or professional concern for the environment and countryside, rural communities and church.
JRI also offers a series of Briefing papers: Briefing Paper number 42, Integrating creation care into mission planning in a post-covid urban setting explores the issues that the Covid-19 pandemic has exposed, and the opportunities which have arisen to rethink local mission.
