Turning Tides, formally Worthing Churches Homeless Projects, started as a direct response from the Worthing community in 1991 to the needs of those homeless and vulnerable, since then we have grown massively as a charity.
Over the last year, Turning Tides has gone from strength to strength. With an army of over 300 volunteers and now over 100 multi-skilled, highly dedicated, well trained staff, we have extended our support in other areas of West Sussex – East Grinstead and brand new projects such as our Lyndhurst Road project - our short term temporary accommodation opened in May this year.
Last year we supported over 1,700 people across the county and housed over 170. After our rebrand earlier this month, it has certainly been a busy year! We remain steadfast that homelessness is not an inevitability and we work tirelessly to make the aspirations of homeless people to be housed a real and viable option.
