Mission
MissionAssist is a dedicated network of volunteers freely giving their time and talents to help others around the world advance the gospel and make scripture more accessible. We provide opportunities for people to serve world mission with flexibility around their other commitments and without travelling. Our teams of volunteers provide a range of services and resources which reach across every continent.
The Bible Digitisation Project is our largest team, with over 200 volunteers converting printed text to digital format, in other languages, for other communities. Our own translation, the EasyEnglish Bible, is read by nearly a million people each month. We also offer resources for literacy and community development, known as Shell Books.
We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO number 1162807) with a board of trustees, various administrative staff, a leadership team and the Chief Executive Officer, none of who receive any salary. Everyone serves from their own home, so we benefit from having no premises costs, although we do rely on modern technology for remote working.
MissionAssist is funded by donations from its volunteers and supporters. There is no membership fee but we are grateful that many people choose to make a voluntary contribution when they join, monthly, annually or as a one-off gift.
