CMS has followed Jesus to the edges for over 220 years – and we aren’t about to stop.
Church Mission Society began in 1799 with a group of Christians, including William Wilberforce, who said yes to Jesus’ call to follow him to the edges.
Today, in the pioneering spirit of our founders, we continue to share Jesus’ love at the edges – working in over 40 countries across the world and in the UK.
Jesus never gives up. Neither should we.
Our heart is to see people discover their place in God’s story. We can only continue this vital work through the giving and prayers of our supporters.
Join us and you will discover God at work in surprising ways.
Jesus goes to extraordinary lengths to show his love to the forgotten people in our world. Church Mission Society follows Jesus to the edges to share his love and see people reach their God-given potential.
Julias in Tanzania was three when he lost the use of his legs. Due to the stigma attached to disability, Julias recalls: “I was not treated well by [other] children and stayed home all day. My father started taking me to school when I was seven. When he passed away, I could no longer go... the school was too far to crawl.”
The future looked bleak and lonely for Julias. Then he heard about Neema Crafts, started by CMS mission partners to provide skills training, jobs and dignity for people with disabilities. And to show the community that God loves everyone.
Thanks to Neema training, Julias became an expert tailor. He now works at Neema, earning enough income for him, his wife and three children. He enjoys a life he never thought possible.
Many people had given up on Julias. Not Jesus. And not CMS.
