Millions play sport every week in the UK, yet very few know Jesus.

For 50 years, Christians in Sport has existed to reach the world of sport for Christ.

What began in 1976 with a small group praying has, under God, grown into a ministry supporting thousands of sportspeople across amateur sport starting from young players and athletes through to elite and professional sport throughout the UK and across the world.

New Season of Ministry

We long to see sportspeople maturing in Christ within the local church, equipped to live and speak for Jesus in sport. We are committed to this particularly through three areas:

• Formative years (Under 23s), reaching young sportspeople at a key stage for faith and life through Sports Plus camps, university groups, schools work, and local initiatives like the Reach Project, where each year thousands engage with the gospel and many begin lifelong journeys of following Jesus in sport.

• Serving the Church, equipping churches and leaders to reach sportspeople in their communities through training, events, and resources currently supporting 800+ leaders across 300+ churches taking their faith into teams, clubs, and local communities.

• Elite and professional sport, providing specialist support for athletes competing at the highest levels, through one-to-one discipleship, group Bible studies, and work across performance pathways as they navigate the unique pressures of elite sport while growing as followers of Jesus.

As we mark 50 years, we look back with thankfulness and ahead with the same dependence on God. There is still a world of sport to be reached.

To help step into this next season, a generous £100,000 match funding gift has been provided. This means all new or increased regular giving will be matched for the next 12 months, doubling the impact of each gift.
