Millions play sport every week in the UK, yet very few know Jesus.
Christians in Sport exists to reach the world of sport for Christ.
We're all in for Christ, all in on sport and all in it together.
Sport is a rich context for mission and worship where Christians can enjoy growing their God-given gifts and share their love for Jesus as they develop deep and lasting friendships.
Christians in Sport's particular focus is on sportspeople under-25 years old, from amateur players, to young people on performance pathways, to professional athletes. These years are formative when it comes to faith.
We desire to see sportspeople maturing in Christ in the local church and being supported to live and speak for Jesus in sport. We do this through:
- Sports Plus sharing the good news of Jesus with young people through week-long summer camps run predominantly by volunteers who continue to run evangelistic events throughout the year in our university groups and local networks.
- Supporting young performance athletes and their families with pastoral care through regular group meetings and guidance as their young people face the challenges that come on the pathway to elite and professional sport.
- The Reach Project helps sportspeople within deprived communities to develop their passion for sport and connect this with faith in Christ through local sports events.
- Digital Development provides resources including devotionals, podcasts, and films to equip Christian athletes and enable them to share faith online.
- Equipping local churches with evangelistic tools to reach sportspeople, fostering collaborative mission to sportspeople through local networks of amateur athletes in over 40 towns and cities.
- Global development trains leaders for international sports ministry, supporting sustainable mission models to raise new leaders worldwide.
We depend on God to enable our mission and rely on prayer and donations to keep going. Could you partner with us regularly to enable this work of reaching the world of sport for Christ?
