Mission
& Development
Currently, there are one billion people living in isolation around the world, cut off from life's essentials. They have no choice but to be hundreds of miles away from the nearest hospital, church, school, or clean water supply. They have no choice but to live in a country with insurmountable geographical barriers that leave it impossible to build roads.
But you can choose to help.
MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) is a Christian charity that uses aircraft to overcome geographical barriers and reach isolated people around Asia and Africa.

Ruth's story
In Papua New Guinea, the life of 12-year-old Ruth was suddenly threatened after she was shot in the stomach. She went from playing with her friends inside a fenced-off perimeter to suddenly wondering if she would survive through the day within seconds.
'They shot me and the bullet went inside of my body. I thought I was dead.'
Overland travel to hospital could take a week to complete. This was time Ruth did not have. The MAF plane delivered her to the hospital in ten minutes.
But thanks to the love of MAF family members, Ruth woke up after the operation and her bowel was fully functioning after just a few days. This story is just one example of a life saved by our magnificent supporters, without whom our planes could not fly.
Our core areas of work
Education: Overcoming geographical barriers that prevent children attending school by flying pupils and teachers to school, and by delivering essential school supplies, ensuring young people can receive a fulfilled education.
Medical and Health: Improving access to healthcare by enabling emergency medical evacuations, providing hospital supplies, and transporting doctors and patients. Our efficient and safe flights save hours of travel time which is essential in matters of life or death.
Economic Empowerment: Supporting local, impoverished communities with essential freight flights to supply materials that support local businesses.
Relief and Development: Strengthening remote regions by addressing fundamental issues including gender inequality, poverty, illiteracy, and disease. Building harmonious relationships with local communities to understand how we can best meet their needs.
Church: Spreading the Gospel to isolated communities that have never heard of Christ. We frequently transport pastors, provide Bibles in native languages, and strengthen and grow existing church communities.
Disaster Response: Operating in areas most impacted by climate change and often providing first response when natural disasters strike.
